Description of the Policy:

This policy applies to staff, students and visitors to the University and identifies where the University prohibits smoking.

1.0       Policy

 

Smoking is prohibited on all campuses except in those areas specifically designated for smoking by the Pro Vice Chancellor (Administration).

 

The prohibition on smoking includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:

 

o    in buildings or parts of buildings under the University's control

o    in any outdoor area of a food outlet, or any outdoor area where food and drink is provided

o    in University vehicles

o    within 5 metres of air intakes, external doors, windows and ventilation louvres.

Smoking – the act of smoking tobacco as a cigar or cigarette.
